Strangely, it was the only one of mine to be published by a legacy publisher. Slowest novel, so far, was 2.5 years for the first draft; and an unknown number of years to edit it and clean it up and give up trying to sell it.

Cheers!

@hg47@hg47https://www.blogger.com/profile/08017668041156929677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17629904.post-77185787612062705922011-12-29T10:13:46.711-08:002011-12-29T10:13:46.711-08:00How about Ghosts on the Red Line, the new novel by...How about Ghosts on the Red Line, the new novel by Peter David Shapiro that has been generating buzz from readers ("imaginative, strange account" "great read" "compelling storyline").

It's a different kind of ghost story that explores what happens when commuters on Boston's Red Line report seeing people whom they know have died. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority hires consultant Harry West to find the cause of these strange events. A prominent psychic becomes involved, along with the Archbishop of Boston, members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, MIT researchers, Cambridge police, and a notorious gangster, all pursuing their own agendas.

You can check it out at www.ghostsontheredline.com or at Amazon at http://amzn.to/GhostsRedLine.

The fact that I wrote Ghosts on the Red Line has nothing whatever to do with my bringing this to your attention.PeterShapirohttp://www.peterdshapiro.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17629904.post-72444407386541342272011-12-29T05:35:33.291-08:002011-12-29T05:35:33.291-08:00Interesting books. I've added both of these to my to read list over at good reads based on your recommendation, as they both sound good. Although it sounds very different, for some reason your review puts me in mind of Iain Banks "Transition", which I enjoyed recently.A Shadow Fallshttp://www.songoftheelves.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17629904.post-86983319302664340722011-08-09T14:29:31.147-07:002011-08-09T14:29:31.147-07:00Just came across this review. Like you, what I love is the black humor embedded in every scene, the wry self-commentary, the sense of irony in every twist. Also, the caving sequence is dead-on. I'm amazed to find anyone writing a sequel (did Trevanian have no objections to this work deriving from his own copyrighted material?) and will look for a copy. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.Sarah Stegallhttp://www.munchkyn.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17629904.post-83929830264223174062011-03-24T14:15:03.185-07:002011-03-24T14:15:03.185-07:00GREAT list!
